The Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of America's most popular theme parks located in Valencia, California. Located just twenty minutes away from the glitzy cinema city of Hollywood, the Six Flags Magic Mountain has more than 100 rides and games to keep its millions of visitors enthralled. The park can also boast of a history spanning three decades, it opened to the public on memorial weekend in 1971 as Magic Mountain. The idea behind the development of this theme park was to offer a thrilling alternative to the nearby Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm amusement parks.
At the time of its opening the Six Flags Magic Mountain has an impressive line up of adrenaline pumping roller coasters, in following years this number was greatly enhanced and became more and more innovative. In 1988 themed areas that included the popular Times Warner cartoon characters were introduced. An area known as Thomas Town which is very popular amongst young children features the animated Thomas the Steam Engine character along with his companions. Bugs Bunny World is also extremely popular and features a number of Timers Warner cartoon character including the highly popular carrot munching, fast talking rabbit.
The newest addition to this wonderful theme park has been the extreme roller coaster 'X2: Xtreme to the second power' ride, this ride features faster trains and amazing special effects that are rarely duplicated anywhere in the world. This amazing fun filled attraction can easily be accessed by guests staying at Los Angeles hotels due to excellent transportation links.
